Ok so it's been a little while, to those of you who do read and enjoy my blog posts, I'll apologise for that! But I'm back and I'm back with a little beauty post for you! (If you hadn't realised already, these are my most frequent posts and favourite to write about). I know most people would probably associate lip balm as a winter/colder months beauty essential but for me if I don't apply some sort of lip moisturisation before bed or before I apply my lipstick everyday then I will most probably end up with dry lips, or at least just not as smooth as I'd like them to be. There isn't many things I hate more  or many things that look worse than when you apply your favourite lipstick and it's ruined by a pair of wannabe desert lips.

But I also know that sometimes it can be hard to find a lip balm  that actually works or actually moisturises your lips enough to keep that dryness at bay! I had this experience recently with a Cowshed lip balm, I really wanted to love it because it's Cowshed and I love their products, the packaging is always pretty and it felt moisturising, but my lips still remained dry! And of course it may have just been me and it may work really well for others, maybe I just have particularly desert esque lips, although lets just keep that between us, because I'd never let it show with my little collection of lip saviours on hand. So of course I wouldn't ever keep from you what these little lip saviours are and I'm going to take this time to share some of my favourite lip balms that I've grown to love and will continue to love all year round.

Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm - I'd just like to start by saying this is probably the cutest lip balm packaging I'll probably ever come across, when I ordered it I didn't even realise how small it is! I also love that it's in a classic little tin design, it has a kind of old fashioned feel to it. I fell in love with Burt's Bees range of products when I purchased their Nourishing Mango Butter Lip Balm last year, so I knew I was going to love the beeswax lip balm too! This is definitely a lip balm I like to apply just before my lipstick as it's not too glossy, it's just the right amount of moisturisation. As soon as you apply it to the lips it gets to work and you can feel it working as it has a refreshing/tingling sensation, kind of like the lip glosses you can get with plumping action, but there's no lip plumping action in this product.. No Kylie Jenner lip challenge here. Burt's Bees says, "Give your lips the nourishing feeling they deserve. This natural lip balm is loaded with coconut and sunflower oils, rich in vitamins and essential fatty acids, to nourish, condition and soften lips. Beeswax seals in hydration. We've even added peppermint oil for a refreshing tingle." Plenty of natural goodness!

Palmer's Cocoa Butter Dark Chocolate & Mint Lip Balm - If I didn't love Palmer's range of products enough already, I definitely did when I discovered their range of dark chocolate flavoured lip balms and now that I own this one! Not only is this little stick packed with SPF15 containing skin protectant sunscreen, which I'm really happy with as I was meaning to get myself a lip balm with SPF15, in it for the Summer months, if there's anything worse than dry lips, it's burnt lips! And being as pale as I happen to be, you can bet money on the fact I'll burn to the colour of a beetroot before I tan. It has long lasting moisture, it's soothing, is filled with Vitamin E and it also says on the packet that it promotes fresh breath, which isn't really something I'm concerned with, but for anyone who is, hey ho! And of course it tastes like dark chocolate, which is a 50/50 good thing as all I want to do is lick my lips & it kind of smells like mint ice cream!

Nuxe Rêve De Miel Lip Balm (20th Anniversary Red Limited Edition Pot) - This lip balm is the same formula as the original Nuxe Rêve De Miel, but it has a pinky/red lid and writing on the jar, it also came in the cutest little pink and cream box as it's the 20th Anniversary edition, although I can't read a word of what the box says on the inside and out as it's all in French, and to think I spent my first 3 years of secondary school learning the language.. I've promised myself I'll speak it fluently one day. I think there was a red or yellow edition to choose from! I went with the pinky/red because I just think it's a bit of a prettier version from the original, with the same matte/frosted glass design which I love! It's a repairing, nourishing lip balm with a rich, really nice texture to restore suppleness to comfort dry and chapped lips. It smells really nice! It has a sweet & fruity smell to it.. I've also read up that it was tested out under dermatological supervision on 22 volunteers over 28 days in extreme climate conditions in Canada. If it's good enough for Canada's winter months, it's good enough for my lips!

Revlon Colourburst Balm Stain Lip Balm In 040 Rendezvous - I also wanted to feature a lip balm that was kind of a lip balm/lip stick as I think it's always good to have a lip balm that offers a little pop of colour when you feel like your lips need that extra bit of nourishment, but you still want some colour on your lips! And this lip balm is perfect for that, I picked the shade Rendezvous as it's an orangey/red/coral toned shade, which is perfect for this time of year and also one of my favourite shades to wear on the lips! But it's the perfect dewy, subtle hint of colour, not too much and not too less either. I've tried both and I also think the Revlon Colourburst Balm Stain Lip Balms are a brilliant dupe for Clinique's Chubby Sticks, packaging wise and formula they're basically exactly the same! Revlon's Colourbursts are described as pampering balm, fused with a lightweight lip stain in an adorable chubby crayon. It creates "softer, smoother lips with a perfect flush of colour that lasts hour after hour. 100% of women who tried it felt their lips were instantly moisturised with a soft stain of colour." When I first bought it I thought how on earth am I going to sharpen this, it's plastic! But then I realised it's retractable and the silver part of the top, you wind up as if you would a lipstick, I love love love this lip balm.

A little honey/honeybee appreciation never hurt nobody.. Happy Friday!
