A couple or a few weeks ago now (I don't remember, we'll just say a little while ago) Lancôme had an offer on where if you spent £20 or over you got 4 free samples and usually I don't fall victim to these kinds of e mails but going by the experience I'd previously had with Lancôme's free samples, including a lipstick and an eyeliner that were pretty well sized! I decided that I would do just that, I needed a new mascara anyway and it just so happened that their Grandiôse mascara that just so happened to be one of the mascara's on my wish list was around the £20 mark, so I got a nice new shiny (very prettily designed) mascara and 3 free samples.. If you're paying attention then you may be thinking wait I thought it was 4? Well so did I, but it looks like I wasn't the only one to take Lancôme up on their offer as they had actually ran out of the 4th sample, but either way I'm pretty sure I now have a collection of all the free mini's that Lancôme have to offer! Having said this, it then sprung to mind that I'd actually accumulated quite a few samples recently and sure I have a little pile of those samples you usually find in magazines that come in the packets, but they're good for about 1 use and once you've teared the square sized packet open, any excess that is left inside dries up anyway. So I really love these samples, especially Lancôme's, samples that come in little pots or bottles that look like the full sized version, but meant for mice being slightly smaller in size! I remembered that I read somewhere, I think it was a blog post from one of my favourite bloggers, although I can't remember for the life of me who.. Dedicated reader I am! Mentioning that she saves her samples for when she goes away for a few days/nights or goes on holiday, which is an absolutely genius idea and I'm almost angry at myself for never thinking of it before! She was completely right in the fact that all of your big skin care bottles/tubes/tubs can take up valuable room in your suitcase (valuable room that could be used for more shoes!!) and you never really need all of that product for the amount of time that you generally go away for. Although my favourite experience about the airport on the way home is the Duty Free, the  next time I get myself to an airport I'll be having myself a field day. So, I decided that this is what I'll do, save and collect my samples/mini's for when I go away, or just simply stay over for the night at a friends house! But of course I have tested them slightly just to see what they're like and thought I would share with you what I've found, maybe you'll be inspired to invest in the full sized product, or join me to start hoarding your samples too!

Funnily enough I've actually been using moisturiser samples to get through not having to buy a new full sized one, magazines and spending more than you should do online to get the free samples can sometimes come in handy! So I have used a little of this one, but of course I knew I'd need to buy a new moisturiser eventually and ended up purchasing my trusty This Works Perfect Look Skin Miracle Moisturiser (what a mouthful). I can tell you that the Lancôme Hydra Zen Neurocalm Moisturiser is one of the loveliest moisturisers I have ever used, it feels so nice on my skin, my skin really absorbs it and loves it, it's not too heavy at all but as soon as I've massaged it into my skin, I can feel that my skin is instantly moisturised.. Which is good considering I suffer fro quite dry skin, if  I lived in the dark ages before a good moisturiser was invented then we would have a problem! The perfect kind of moisturiser in my opinion, not too heavy or greasy but leave's skin perfectly moisturised and glowing. Also, if that's not enough, it has a pink sparkly lid! "With an exclusive plant complex enriched with Rose de France, Mu Dan Pi - Paeonia Suffruticosa and Moringa extracts, Hydra Zen Neurocalm is designed to soothe and hydrate the skin."

I love the little bottles these samples came in! And I do believe if I use them sparingly they could last me quite a while, I actually think they're relatively sized, especially the Caudalíe! The Caudalíe Polyphenol [C15] Anti-Wrinkle Defence Serum I have just realised isn't actually a sample, so now I feel stupid and lucky at the same time.. It's £35 for this little bottle and I got it for free! It must be good with that price tag! But anyhow it's still a mini, it smells fresh and clean, the exact kind of scent that you'd want to put on your face, it smells a lot like my Origins High Potency Night-A-Mins which I love and love the smell of! I tested a little of this on my cheek, I only used a drop and it spread pretty much around my whole cheek so I guess you don't need to use too much, hence the small bottle. It sunk into my skin almost instantly and left it feeling really soft, it's a white, milky kind of texture so it glides onto the skin so smoothly. I also really love that the bottle and pipette are glass, it makes you feel a tad more special whilst using it, I know that I obviously don't need an anti-wrinkle serum (not quite time for that yet!) but it comes with plenty of other benefits which I really like the sound of such as, Vitamin C Anti-Oxidants, it defends the skin against UV Rays and pollution, it's enriched with Hyaluronic Acid and Olive Squalane for moisturising & plumping action. "Lines and wrinkles are visibly corrected, the skin becomes brighter." I love anything that brightens the skin!

The Lancôme Advanced Genifique Youth Activating Concentrate Serum I'm happy to say is also very lovely! This serum felt almost velvet like when brushing it across my cheek, it absorbed into my skin like silk and left my skin feeling so soft, this like the Caudalíe also smells really nice! It's the same kind of texture as the Caudalíe too, a smooth, white, milky texture. The Génifique is Lancôme's No. 1 serum for softer, glowing, younger looking skin, I'm all for soft, glowing skin and I would like to keep my young skin for as long as I possibly can thank you! I'm really glad I was given this sample as I've actually never used a serum before, but I think I'd quite like to and the full sized one to this is not only a very pretty bottle, but it seems to be a No.1 choice too!

I'll just start my saying this is and probably always will be the coolest mascara I have ever bought, the bottle is so pretty I almost don't want to throw it away once the mascara has dried up! If you've ever seen those glass cubes with dead insects inside at trinket/souvenir shops then the lid to this mascara is kind of like that.. But with Lancôme's signature rose inside, not a dead scorpion (slightly nicer!) I've worn this mascara in my last two blogposts I think and I love it! I have quite long eyelashes anyway, but I definitely notice an even bigger enhancement to that depending on which mascara I'm wearing and I think it's difficult to know if a mascara will actually do what the company says it does, like with anything really! Especially at such a price tag.. Including this one I've tried out 3 higher end mascara's in my lifetime, first was the Benefit They're Real Mascara which was amazing, the Benefit Roller Lash Mascara which was also amazing and I was convinced I would never love anything as much as those two, but I think I may have just found a new favourite! It makes my eyelashes so long they're almost touching my eyebrows and I'll constantly be asked if I'm wearing false eyelashes and my dad actually once almost didn't believe me when I told him they were my real lashes.. Not only are my eyelashes even longer, they're separated evenly which is obviously down to the magic of the unusual, winding looking wand.. But if that somehow makes my eyelashes look longer and flutteryer (can that be a word?) without leaving them looking like a clumpy mess then I'm all down for a little bit of unusual. This mascara was also voted onto The Glamour Beauty Power List of 2014.

Next up is the Malin + Goetz Grapefruit Face Cleanser, I got this including a facial moisturiser and lip balm also by Malin + Goetz in an Elle magazine (they seriously don't slack with they're freebies) I still have the lip balm but that's not really a mini as it's pretty much average lip balm tube size and as for the moisturiser I've used all of that up and loved it so much that I got out my scissors, chopped the tube in half and scooped out as much as I could.. This is honestly one of the best tips I could have been given by the way, there was SO much left of my MAC Studio Sculpt SPF15 Foundation that I just couldn't get to by squeezing.. Get snipping ladies! Anyway, went slightly off track there.. I really wish this was bigger, but like I said previously, so much better than if i'd gotten it in a small square packet, I'm definitely going to be saving this one! This cleanser smells so nice, hence the grapefruit in the title. I'd never heard of Malin + Goetz before I got these samples and I didn't think it was that of a popular brand, but as it turns out it's actually quite well loved by many others too! It's a clear, gel like consistency and it feels so lovely on the skin, it leaves it feeling soft, clean and revitalised, which is just what you want from a facial cleanser! Especially to kick start the day, I do believe one of the best feelings is starting the day of with a fresh, clean feeling face, it makes the whole applying make up process so much nicer/easier as well I think! Malin + Goetz say, "This foaming gel uses natural grapefruit extract and amino acid based skincare agents to deeply cleanse skin without the need for harsh chemicals and drying detergents. Suitable for all skin types, Malin + Goetz' Grapefruit Face Cleanser is ideal for those with sensitive or rosacea-prone skin, gently but thoroughly purifying without stripping the face of its vital natural oils. This lightweight gel formulation effectively removes dirt and makeup and rinses off to reveal a perfectly hydrated, residue-free complexion. Naturally antibacterial grapefruit works to prevent breakouts and blemishes, leaving your skin looking clearer and more radiant." I'm sold!

As for the MAC Studio Fix Fluid SPF15 Foundation, I think Mac do around 12-13 different foundations in total and I've only ever tried one of them before and that was the Mac Studio Sculpt SPF15 Foundation, which I loved! I never wanted it to end, it did last me quite a long time as they come in long tubes, but my love affair with that foundation still just did not last long enough! So I was quite excited to say the least to try out a sample of another one of Mac's foundations, obviously most of the time we have to just trust other peoples words, bite the bullet and see for ourselves, but with Mac's price tags it was nice to be able to get a sample before committing to the actual product! I love this because it looks exactly like the full sized foundation in shape and design but just teeny tiny, so cute! The foundation sample pictured isn't actually the right shade for me.. Wouldn't it be so much better if Mac gave you a choice of your shade before sending you the sample? That way I'd know for sure that it's perfect and I love it.. But well, I do love it, even if it takes a lot of blending and is slightly darker than my normal foundation shade of choice, if I'm to purchase it in the future I'm sure with the right shade it would be perfect. It's not too heavy, which I found the Mac Studio Sculpt was slightly, this is definitely better for a lighter coverage, but is still builadable or in the Spring/Summer where you don't want to be wearing too much foundation! It really does leave that nice slight dewy/glowing complexion (not a greasy look, just a slight glow) which again is perfect for this time of year! I also love that most of Mac's foundations have SPF15 in them. I'm wearing this foundation in this blogpost Litte Treats"Comfortable and long wearing, lasts for up to eight hours (this I can tell you is true) applies smoothly, builds coverage quickly and easily. Contains specially treated micronised pigments and soft focus powders for a super smooth look that helps minimise the appearance of imperfections."

And the last two samples that will conclude this post (if you were wondering if it's ever going to end.. I guarantee you half of what I've said has been rambling and not even about the product itself, I think we can all gather that I like to talk, or in this case.. type!) Two perfume samples, Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire & Lancôme La Vie Est Belle. I'll start with Guerlain, first off the full sized bottle of this is super pretty, I'm definitely adding it to my wish list! But onto the most important part about a fragrance of course, the scent.. It's a fruity, floral and warm scent, perfect for Summer. "I am absolutely essential and utterly irresistible. I am the chic and very glamorous perfumed creation by Guerlain. In La Petite Robe Noire's perfume wardrobe, I am the Petal Dress. My trail reveals a fresh, incredibly exhilarating scent. A fragrance creation in which sparkling mandarin, rose petals and biting pistachio set hearts aflutter." Never have I ever heard a perfume talk about itself so highly.. I have only ever purchased one thing from Guerlain before and that was the Les Voilettes Translucent Compact Powder Mattifying Veil and I was completely in awe with that, mostly how absolutely pretty the packaging was! I was completely unaware that Guerlain even did perfumes but of course it was to be expected that they would be lovely, with the prettiest bottles!

Lancômes La Vie Est Belle Perfume is by far the cutest perfume sample I have received, I'm used to either a little tube type spray bottle such as the Guerlain one or the bits of fabric covered in perfume inside little packets glued to the page of a magazine advertising a certain perfume, which allows you to smell it but not really use it or test it properly.. Complete teaser! The Lancôme perfume sample is literally a teeny version of the the full size, it's a mini bottle of perfume, I know I'm probably getting way too over excited with these Lancôme samples but I just love them! By far the best brand for samples, well done Lancôme.. This perfume is kind of like what you'd expect a Ballerina to smell like (odd I know) it's a very pretty scent, it reminds me of a Paris garden on a Spring day, Lancôme has a thing for doing that to me! The notes include Concrete of Iris Pallida, Jasmine Sambac, Orange Blossom and Patchouli Essence. "La Vie Est Belle is a universal declaration to the beauty of life."

My step mum has made a pact with herself to buy a new bunch of flowers every week so we always have flowers in the house and I'm not sure how long this pact will last for but I'm liking the idea, these ones seem to be lasting pretty well too! I know there's quite a few sun shadows in these pictures but they were taken in my conservatory and it was a very sunny day yesterday! But I kind of like how the pictures turned out anyway. Summer is getting closer by the second and I couldn't be happier about this! I'll link all of the full sized products to these samples down below :-)

I hope you liked this post and you enjoy the rest of your Thursday afternoon!
